BlackBerry sheds some light on the Torch 2

Another RIM handset detailed
BlackBerry sheds some light on the Torch 2

Yet another RIM handset has broken cover on BGR, this time it's the sequel to last year's BlackBerry Torch.

On Thursday we reported on the leaked details on the BlackBerry Dakota, and mentioned that it could be RIM's new flagship handset, but the BlackBerry Torch 2 looks as if it could be the daddy of the new release bunch.

It ramps up the processing power to 1.2GHz (up from a 624 MHz Marvell Tavor PXA940 on the original) and also packs in 512MB of RAM with Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and Tri-band HSPA 14.4Mbps connectivity.

There's also GPS, NFC and Bluetooth 2.1 and the 3.2-inch screen has a better resolution than its predecessor - up to 640 x 480.

It runs BlackBerry OS 6.1 and there's a 5-megapixel camera with flash built in too.

Looks wise, it looks exactly the same as the original Torch, except for the silver trimmings.

It's set for a Q3 2011 launch and will be hitting AT&T in the States. No UK network details at present.
