Murdoch and Apple venture to get underway
The joint venture between News Corp and Apple to produce The Daily, it's joint iPad digital newspaper, is now set to launch on the 2 February.
This is after a delay rumoured to have been caused by Apple's new iTunes subscription platform.
According to an invite posted by The Loop, the plan is for The Daily to be launched at The Guggenheim Museum in New York, with Apple being represented by VP of Internet Services, Eddy Cue (as Jobs in currently away on a medical leave of absence) whilst News Corp's big cheese, Rupert Murdoch, should also be in attendance.
The Daily will be based in News Corp's Manhattan office, but will also have staff in LA. However, details of the online iPad news service are scarce - though seeing as it's being run by two massive organisations with fingers in all manner of different pies, we're sure it'll be a great source of impartial content.
Murdoch has reportedly poured $30 million into The Daily, which is expected to cost 99 cents a week, or around $4.25 a month. Rest assured that Pocket-lint will bring you all the details as and when it goes live.
