Fans complain about Microsoft's free Miley Cyrus concert

Fans are booing the free Miley Cyrus concert Microsoft threw on Saturday to celebrate the opening of its Bellevue Square store.

The store gave away 2,000 free tickets when it opened for its first day, on Thursday. Cyrus fans camped out overnight in the Bellevue Square parking lot to get tickets. People who received tickets and went to the concert are complaining that she only played four songs and the concert lasted 20 minutes.

"I didn't like it. It was only 20 minutes," said Esther Erd, 19, of Renton. Erd, who is eight months pregnant, waited in line Thursday to get free tickets.

Other fans unleashed their anger online.

Philip Doles, from Bellevue, left this reader comment on the Microsoft Pri0 blog: "Miley Cyrus Was HORRIBLE. She was paid 1.2 million dollars and was supposed to perform from 4pm - 5pm.. She ended it after only 4 songs and left. Hours and hours of standing around and was a huge dissappointment. Microsoft should get a refund. She was a huge disappointment."

Here is where you can check out the other reader comments.

I am checking if Microsoft is commenting.

Cyrus was one of several celebrities Microsoft hired to bring people to the opening of the first Microsoft store on the company's home turf. Dave Matthews gave a surprise concert on Thursday night and, on Friday, speedskater Apolo Anton Ohno played Kinect at the store.

I stopped by the store on Sunday and it was pretty crowded -- more crowded than the Apple store down the way.

Update 11:05 a.m.: Microsoft declined to comment and referred us to concert reaction at the event's Facebook page.

Update 11:26 a.m.: Microsoft just sent over a statement saying Miley Cyrus played six songs, not four, which some fans had reported.
