Things not so bad after all?
Recent times have seen plentiful unhappy faces surrounding the offices of RIM. The company that once made its name in the mobile email market has struggled against new competition from Apple and Google. Even the recent PlayBook, BlackBerry's take on the tablet, suffered at the hands of critics.?
A sigh of relief then for BlackBerry, who proudly announced via Twitter earlier today that they had managed one million subscribers in the EMEA, stating:
"Pow! BlackBerry continues momentum across EMEA with 1 million + new subscribers added in less than 3 weeks"
RIM had been regularly disclosing its?subscription?figures up until late last year. As Reuters points out?there are more than 55 million subscribers globally.? The company, however, suffered a 15 per cent share price plummet last month.?Apple's WWDC may have contributed to the share drop.?
Blackberry's clever compression and data encryption sees the company charging network operators to use its service, helping maintain the company as having the second highest margins in the business though - only second to Apple.
