The popular mobile game Angry Birds will not becoming to Windows Phone on Wednesday, as Microsoft had earlier said.
The app will not be available for Microsoft's mobile phone platform until June 24, according to a Microsoft statement Friday about the app's status. In the popular game made by Rovio, birds are catapulted to knock over stone and wooden structures.
At its MIX developer conference in April, Microsoft said it would be coming to Windows Phone on May 25.
Angry Birds has come to symbolize the smaller selection of apps available on Windows Phone. At last count, Windows Phone had around 10,000 apps, compared to Google Android and Apple iPhone, which have hundreds of thousands of mobile applications.
