Last Thursday and Friday, April 21-22, more than 60 kids participated in the CyberSummit, an annual event hosted by Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, and open to clubs in and around
“What I think is so great about CyberSummit is that it brings learning to life for kids. Children learn about concepts in the classroom, but with this event they are able to have a hands-on experience with things like technology and video music production, architecture and engineering,“ said Joshua Kraft, Nicholas President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Boston. “Providing kids with interactive experiences makes it exciting and really leaves an impression. This year was especially successful – the kids were more engaged than we’ve ever seen.”
Microsoft volunteers ran sessions including Game Making with Kodu, and a Windows Mobile workshop. Additionally the kids participated in an internet safety workshop where they learned how to combat cyber-bullying.
This was Microsoft’s third year sponsoring the event and the
