We may not have a 4G network here in Blighty but that doesn't mean that we have to miss out on all the tasty 4G optimised phones that our buddies across the pond are going to be able to get their hands on.

And one of those very handsets is the Motorola Atrix, which first caught our eye over at CES, and is coming the the UK courtesy of T-Mobile.

The Atrix is an absolute monster of an Android phone. But it's more than just a phone; it's a laptop, multimedia player, video source for movies and much, much more.

Powering this Android 2.2 (for now) device, is a a dual core processor, with two 1GHz cores and 1GB of RAM. It also has a 4-inch qHD (960 x 540) touchscreen, a rear 5-megapixel camera, a front-facing VGA webcam for video calling, and 16GB of memory on board - with support for MicroSD up to 32GB.

But it's when docked that the Atrix really shows off. You can pop it into a media dock for 1080p video on a remote screen but, more impressively, you can also plug it into a custom made laptop which comprises of a screen, keyboard and battery.

When the Atrix is inserted into the back of the laptop, the screen fires up and, suddenly, you have a fully functioning net/notebook, running off of the phone. Convergence got crazy or what?

T-Mobile doesn't give a date of when the phone is likely to land, but we're hearing whispers about June. As ever, we'll keep you posted.
